Wow......
.....That's all I could say to myself this morning, walking around my house in my PJs, unable to concentrate on getting ready for work and thinking that this is the part where it starts to become surreal. I got rid of 106 lbs, and the feeling is almost overwhelming! It's not just about a number on the scale anymore, it's about feeling really, really good; it's about having all this energy, that sometimes I don't know what to do with it, (especially at work) - I can feel my bones, many of them...I can put my hands on my hips and feel bones, sometimes I am not sure if it's a bone or not, so I check out my daughter to see if she has the same - yeah, not always a good idea, she rolls her eyes, whines and gives me a smart alec remark!- but people who have never had a weight issue, don't understand, and take their bones for granted!! Most times I don't post my little successes because I still have a long way to go - many people start their WL journey at the weight that I am today !! - but I have never lost this much before in my life, and that I think is the surreal part. Feels like someone slap me so I can wake up from this dream!!!! I just wanted to say to those that are just starting this, especially new post-ops and pre-ops....this is so worth it, the pre-op diet....being cold all the times....I would change none of it, and I am so happy I decided to do this. - Anna
Me too, Anna. I was overjoyed to see my collarbone the other day. I can feel my rib cage lying down and I felt my hip bones when I put my hands on my hips yesterday. My knees already sort of "slam" together when I lie down at night. It's been so much fun crossing my legs!
I feel great too and have lots of energy. It's the best. I'm so glad I did this. I just wish I'd done it sooner.
Hooray for all of us who are taking back our health-pre ops, post ops, ops. All of us!
Congratulations to my sleeve sister! I am so, so happy for you! You seem like you are very happy and always have a smile on your face. Thank you for answering all of my questions and for setting such a wonderful example. I can't wait to meet my hip and collar bones! Think I saw them back in the 80's but it's been so long...!
You must feel like a whole new person. Pat yourself on the back. What a major accomplishment that most people never achieve!
See you tonight!
Kim
Anna ~ WOW!! (I'll say it too!!!!!). Congratulations, you are a real "LOSER". I am astounded at your success, I can't imagine what it feels like to have hit the century club already and you had your sleeve in FEBRUARY!!! AMAZING!~
You must share some of your secrets. I've mentioned before that I feel like my weight is coming off slowly (29 official pounds in 6 weeks since surgery) and when I see a story like yours I am simply blown away. I can't wait to meet you at the June support group meeting.
Some of our friends "Sparkle" indeed, but *YOU ROCK* !
Wendy
Thanks Wendy - I lost 50 lbs on the pre-op diet, and 56 since surgery, so the 106 is total. I always count the pre-op weight loss because that was the hardest part of the weight loss journey, and it has been a godsend in teaching me good habits before surgery. Don't forget, I also started at a very high weight (386 ) - I think 29 lbs in six weeks is great!!! I never lost 29 lbs in six weeks on any of the million diets I have been on!
